Study of Noise Pollution in a Cement Factory in Southeast Iran

Abstract

Noise is one of the important environmental pollutants that exists in various communities and places of human life and causes chronic diseases in industrial environments and factories. a the Sound level measurements were carried out at 8 stations in Khash Cement Company. A total of 144 times of noise levels were measured during the day and night. The equivalent sound exposure level was measured according to ISO1996/1 standard using a Kimo sound level meter made in France and measured on network A. The range of sound levels in the cement factory was 50-75 dB. Statistical comparison of the average sound levels (P=0.785) in 2015, 2016 and 2017 showed no significant difference (P>0.05). The average measured sound levels during the day and night in 2016 (P=0.021) showed a significant difference (P<0.05), but the average sound level between day and night in 2015 (P=0.345) and 2017 (P=0.956) showed no significant difference (P>0.05).
