Safety and Health of Agricultural Workers Exposed to Pesticides: Challenges and Solutions Abstract

Agricultural workers are exposed to various chemical hazards from pesticides on a daily basis that can have adverse effects on their health. Pesticides are widely used in agricultural production to prevent or control pests, diseases, weeds, and other plant pathogens in order to reduce or eliminate yield losses and maintain high product quality. The proper use of pesticides is very important for the health of farmers and environmental protection. Pesticides usually contain toxic compounds that, if continuously exposed, can cause problems such as acute poisoning, chronic skin diseases, respiratory disorders, and even carcinogenesis in workers. Given these risks, it is essential to review and implement safety standards to protect this group of workers.
